Ron DeSantis sheds light on 'Israel's darkest hour' in candid conversation with 'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Tuesday morning, October 10, Florida governor and GOP candidate Ron DeSantis made an appearance on ‘Morning Joe’ in conversation with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
One of the most pressing that Scarborough discussed with DeSantis was about the current situation in Israel, while also questioning the governor what he would have done if he were the President of the United States.
DeSantis has also briefly talked about the Israeli-American community in his state, and shed light on how “Israel has the right to defend itself.”
Ron DeSantis says this is ‘Israel’s darkest hour’
On ‘Morning Joe,’ Joe Scarborough welcomed Ron DeSantis and said, “We have a lot of issues we’d love to talk to you about.”
However, the focus on Tuesday morning would remain on “Israel, Iran, and issues involved with that.”
“Give us your thoughts about the people of Israel right now, and what the United States needs to do to support them,” asked Scarborough.
DeSantis responded, “Well I’ll tell you, Joe, I’m actually down in Bal Harbor, we just did an event at the Shul here, and it’s raw for our community down in South Florida. We have the second biggest Israeli-American community in the county.”
DeSantis added, “This is perhaps Israel’s darkest hour.”
“It is important as Americans that we all come together. Israel has the right to defend itself,” said DeSantis.
Joe Scarborough questions Ron DeSantis on Iran
As the segment proceeded, Joe Scarborough asked Ron DeSantis, “I would like to know if you were President of the United States, or if you were President right now, would the DeSantis administration support an Israeli military strike on Iranian military targets, Iran’s oil infrastructure which of course funds terrorism across the globe.”
To this detailed question by Scarborough on ‘Morning Joe,’ DeSantis talked about the “great deal of success” Hamas had when it came to the surprise attack on Israel.
The governor of Florida also talked about the time he served in Iraq back in 2007 and 2008.
DeSantis also added, “Iran has a lot of American blood on its hands.”
According to DeSantis, “Israel should be focussing on uprooting Hamas, to make this a larger role. I think it does have some risks, but I would say, the United States should turn every screw so that Iran is not getting any money flowing into its coffers.”
