NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis connected with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity for a live interview where the 2024 GOP presidential candidate shared his views on Donald Trump’s rising polls amid four indictments.

This came when Hannity pressed DeSantis on the former President’s strong poll numbers despite ongoing legal problems. Hannity asked why he is so far behind Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.

Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to share DeSantis’ remarks. The Internet lashed out at the governor.

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “Hannity to DeSantis: ‘How Do You Explain’ Trump’s Rising Polls Despite Four Indictments?”

Hannity’s tweet featured a short clip from his interview with Ron DeSantis where the host said, “Let me look at the polls and let me ask you the question.”

He continued, “Donald Trump has had a pretty large lead against all the other candidates. And in many ways when you would think that if a presidential candidate gets indicted four times and arraigned four times, it seems to defy all conventional political gravity that every time that happens that the poll numbers go up. How do you explain that?”

DeSantis responded by referring to Trump’s case, “I think that when that Alvin Bragg case came down, it was just so transparently ridiculous to go back seven or eight years.”

He continued, “Clearly this would not have been brought for nonpolitical reasons. And so I think that he got a lot of sympathy as a result of that in particular. Maybe some of the others too.”

DeSantis continued by criticizing the justice system, deeming it "ridiculous" when under the influence of leftist politicians. He then shifted the conversation, highlighting that a significant portion of Republican voters have not yet reached a decision.

He concluded, “There’s a lot of people that have just not made a final decision.”
