Why did Kanye West pull out of Rolling Loud? Fans say replacing Kid Cudi is ‘pretty slick trick’
Kanye West, who was all set to headline the Rolling Loud in the coming weekend, dropped out of the festival irking his loyal fans. The festival organizers then decided to rope in Kanye’s friend turned foe Kid Cudi as the replacement. This sparked quite a chaos on the Internet as many felt Travis Scott would have been a perfect choice instead of Cudi.
This is not the first time when Kanye West dropped out of a major music festival. Back in April, the ‘Donda’ hitmaker pulled a similar stunt when he backed out as a headliner for Coachella two weeks prior to the main event. Speaking of Rolling Loud, Kanye West has not addressed the matter, so far. However, the festival organizers did share a reason behind the uncalled changes.

Why did Kanye West pull out of Rolling Loud?
Taking to Twitter, the official account of Rolling Loud addressed Kanye West dropping out as a headliner saying, “Due to circumstances outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022.” They added, “Please welcome @KiDCuDi!”. The three-day celebration will also see rappers Future and Kendrick Lamar as the headliners.
The publication Deadline got in touch with Rolling Loud co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler to shed light on why Kanye backed out of the festival. “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing,” they said of his departure in the joint statement. The duo added, “This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.” One post on Twitter claimed that Kanye apparently backed out over organizers not willing to bring Travis Scott.
Kid Cudi coming in as a headliner seems to be interesting as he and Kanye had a fall out in April 2022 after being friends since 2008. Kanye was reportedly not fine with Kid Cudi being friends with Pete Davidson as the latter is dating his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Kid Cudi in a tweet made it clear that he was not cool with that man (Kanye) and that he was not his friend. Speaking of the festival, Rolling Loud Miami will be held from July 22 to July 24 at Hard Rock Stadium.

‘That’s nowhere near a suitable replacement for Kanye’
Social media users got furious over Kanye dropping out of Rolling Loud. “Kanye is such an unprofessional person when it comes to his shows… cancels Coachella a week before the festival, and now ditches Rolling Loud 5 days before his set. Why does he make his fans pay for s**t he’s not gonna end up doing? Not to mention the Donda 2 event was horrible.” Another user stated, “No bruh; we not welcoming Mid. You could’ve easily headlined Travis or moved carti into headline. Also REPLACE GUNNA & TJAY damn.” Whereas, one posted, “An email would have been nice to those that dumped over 2 grand on tickets plus hotel. Secondly, Kid Cudi? That’s nowhere near a suitable replacement for Kanye. Third, Gunna is in jail and isn’t getting out anytime soon. Are you offering refunds?”

I’ve already paid to see cudi headline 2 other fests this year. Y’all really need to make this right and offer some kind of refund.” One user concluded, “We Turing up no matter what but wtf is this s**t why cudi bro might aswell make carti headline.”
