LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert Kirkman, the creator of 'Invincible', has addressed the concerns of fans regarding the prolonged gap between seasons. Following the debut of Season 1 on Prime Video on March 25, 2021, the series was swiftly renewed for two additional seasons. However, two years have since passed without a confirmed release date for Season 2, which is expected to premiere in late 2023, almost three years after the first season.

In response to the prolonged wait, Kirkman has reassured viewers that future breaks between seasons will be shorter. He acknowledges that the delay has been a source of frustration for fans and is committed to delivering the next installment of the series as soon as possible.

Kirkman sheds light on 'Invincible' season 2 and 3

During an interview, Robert Kirkman shared his hopes to shorten the gap between seasons 2 and 3. While he couldn't confirm this with certainty, he emphasized that it was a goal that the team was working towards. He also provided an update on season 2, revealing that he had been reviewing "full animation" and working on adding music to the scenes. He expressed enthusiasm for the progress and revealed his relief at no longer having to field questions about the release date of season 2.

He said, "I can't say [how far we are on season 3's development]. Far enough along that there won't be a similar gap between Season 2 and Season 3. This is the pain. This area right now is the pain for Invincible fans. So once we're through this, once Season 2 comes out, hopefully, it should be smooth sailing from there on. There won't be these big, large gaps, theoretically," as per Collider. Fans have been waiting eagerly for the second season of 'Invincible' and the optimistic news came just at the right time.

'Yea because this wait was terrible'

The show received critical acclaim upon its arrival back in 2021. Since then fans have been waiting patiently( honestly, this is an understatement) for the second season while almost losing hope. Ever since Kirkman shared insights about the development of seasons 2 and 3, fans took to Twitter to release their anxiety per se, breathing a sigh of relief. One fan wrote, "Yea because this wait was terrible." A fan tweeted, "Let's hope so, I'm afraid my kid might put me in a home before I get to season three." Delighted with joy, another fan tweeted, "I don't think I've felt this happy about something in a bit. Literally right as I'm re reading the first compendium." While a fourth fan said, "Would wait 5 years for another incredible season of Invincible is tbh."
