Robert Irwin has shared pictures of himself with Robert Downey Jr. that were taken 16 years apart.

Irwin had posted a recent photograph of himself alongside the 'Iron Man' actor as well as one picture that was taken years ago when he was only a baby. In the throwback picture, Irwin is being held by his late father 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve while Downey Jr. and his son posed with a huge snake.

The now 16-year-old had written on social media, "The first time I met @robertdowneyjr was when I was just a few months old when he and his family visited @australiazoo - it was awesome getting to catch up again to chat all things #Dolittle. One of the kindest people you'll meet, and an incredible advocate for our environment! (Keep an eye out for Robert and I on Australia's @thetodayshow this Wednesday)."

The megastar actor will be starring in the upcoming version of Dolittle had first met the Irwins in 2004 when he had visited the Australia Zoo along with his first-born son, Indio. "My dad absolutely loved touring you around the zoo, that was one of the highlights of his life," Irwin shared to which Downey Jr. replied, "Me and my firstborn literally will never forget it."

Fans and followers have gone wild after seeing the adorable pictures, which went viral and garnered around 250,000 likes in around 12 hours. One social media user commented on the pictures saying, "You're the real-life version of the character," while another added, "Two legends in one pic."

We had recently reported that Irwin was seen getting emotional while talking about the Australian bushfires, which demolished and devastated native wildlife. According to a Daily Mail report, Irwin spoke to Sunrise and was seen fighting back tears as he detailed the injuries that the animals had suffered.

"It's a pretty tough situation. We're absolutely heartbroken," he added as his tears welled up in his eyes.
