In the voicemail, DeNiro tells his former assistant that she is "about to be fired" in a November 2012 call. Robinson has claimed that DeNiro had made "sexually-charged comments to her" and gave her "stereotypically females duties". Robinson who had become his assistant in 2008 also added that he would often lash out at her when he was drunk.

He would treat her as his "office wife" and had asked her to "imagine him on the toilet". In the voicemail, DeNiro yells, "how dare you f***ing disrespect me" and then threatens her saying, "you're f***ing history". "You f***ing don't answer my calls? How dare you. You're about to be fired," he continues.

DeNiro had already launched legal action against Robinson for allegedly spending four days ordering takeout and watching 55 episodes of the popular sitcom 'Friends' while on the job. He also claims that Robinson had raided company coffers and had stolen the actor's frequent flyer miles.

According to the lawsuit filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court in August, DeNiro's production company announced that they were suing Robinson for $3 million. The company also claimed that a review showed she had used the company's American Express card on many lavish trips, floral arrangements, iPhones, Uber rides, a Louis Vuitton handbag, dogsitters, and pricey dinners.

DeNiro's suit is seeking $3 million worth of damages, including repayment of all cash, goods and frequent flyer miles.
