KEARNEY, NEBRASKA: An elderly Nebraska couple, who was reported missing two months ago, has been found dead in a vehicle stuck on a maintenance road, authorities reported. Robert Proctor, 89, and his wife Loveda, 92, of Aurora, were reported missing on January 14 after they were seen driving a blue 2007 Chrysler Pacifica with Nebraska Navy plate number 1030.

Aurora Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff's Office announced on Saturday, March 11 that Robert and Loveda have been found in an area almost 11 miles northeast of Kearney, Nebraska. Officials said their dead bodies were found after an unidentified citizen called about a suspicious vehicle that was stuck on a minimum maintenance road north of 100th and Keystone Road. 'They are in heaven watching over us'

The investigation is ongoing and includes the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora Police Department, and Kearney Police Department. Although the cause of death was not revealed, the sheriff's office stated that there is no indication of foul play. Autopsies have been ordered by the Buffalo County Attorney's Office, the sheriff's office said.

Robert and Loveda’s granddaughter, Laci Fleming, also confirmed their death via a devastating post shared in a Facebook group dedicated to finding the Proctors. “Bob and Loveda have been found. They are in heaven watching over us. No details are being released at this point. Thank you @everyone," she wrote in the post.

In a post marking two months since her grandparents went missing, Laci described her grandfather as a proud veteran who "loves this country so much that he served 21 years for us." She also remembered her grandmother as a "beautiful and very caring soul" who "always had all the answers."

When were Robert and Loveda last seen?

Robert and Loveda vanished after they left their home in Aurora on January 11 at around 4.10 pm and steered towards Grand Island, Nebraska. Laci said they stopped at the Grand Island VA hospital after Robert said that he “felt like hell.” After Robert received medical care, Loveda was driving him home when they got lost on their way, Laci claimed. “Loveda attempted to drive them home in the dark and headed west on Faidley Avenue from St. Francis,” Fleming wrote to Crime Online.

Aurora police reported on February 10 that they had verified the couple's sighting on January 12. As per surveillance footage, Robert and Loveda were at the Pump & Pantry on Highway 6 in Hastings at around 1 am when they started moving west. It was also reported that Robert had dementia and often required blood pressure medication.
