'Riverdale' Season 6: Mishel Prada's Hermosa Lodge makes her much-awaited appearance and shows Veronica how she really plays the game
'Riverdale' is full of secrets and the 'Witness for the Prosecution' reveals one but it doesn't necessarily come as a shocker to staunch fans who are familiar with the character. Her introduction to the show was confirmed by the showrunner, Roberto-Aguirre Sacasa.
At New York Comic-Con 2019, he explained Veronica's older sister, Hermosa (Mishel Prada), will be coming by starting in episode 5. "We're meeting Veronica's older sister this season. Her name is Hermosa and she is as scheming as her father," he said during the Riverdale panel. "I think at one point Veronica says something like, 'she's just like daddy, but a woman, so she's more dangerous.'"
"She is introduced in episode 5, which is the big Lodge trials. One of my good friends, Tanya Saracho, runs the show Vida and I'm a big fan of both of those actresses and I wanted to get them on the show," Aguirre-Sacasa told Seventeen. "She's the other apple of Hiram's eye. She lives in Miami, where she's been doing what Veronica does in Riverdale, she's been running nightclubs and stuff. And one thing we haven't seen with Veronica, because she's an only child, is sibling rivalry. So that will be really really fun to play."
The episode sees her come to town to save her father and she does so without even breaking a sweat. While her screentime is limited, she shows up at La Bonne Nuit for a face-off against Veronica (Camila Mendes) claiming that she is one step ahead of her younger sister. The following day, Hiram (Mark Consuelos) gets off jail and announces to the press that he plans on running for Mayor of Riverdale.
It is evident the character comes in with a lot of criminal shades like her father and could prove to be a major roadblock for all that Veronica has planned. Only time will tell how the sibling rivalry will pan out.
