The underlying tension between the Salt Lake City housewives is finally coming to the surface, and we couldn't have asked for better drama. Things between Mary Cosby and Jen Shah have been strained since day 1. Despite their many attempts at rekindling their friendship, nothing worked, and only ended up making matters worse between the ladies. Unfortunately, the beef between Mary and Jen is taking a toll on the other housewives, as they are being forced to pick a side, and none of them wants to do that.

The recently aired episode featured Jen throwing a huge surprise party to celebrate her husband Sharrief's birthday. Jen invited all the ladies, except for Mary. When Whitney Rose heard that Mary wouldn't be invited, she was a bit disappointed, as she was hoping for them both to put their differences aside and make an attempt to be friends. Jen shoots down Whitney's suggestion of inviting Mary and continues to plan for the surprise party. Meanwhile, Mary heard about the surprise party and was upset over the fact that she didn't get an invite, while all the remaining ladies were invited to the party.

Later, Mary expresses her sadness and disappointment with the group to Whitney, since nobody is willing to have her back or take her side, as everybody is scared of Jen. Whitney asks Mary if Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow too felt the same way. Mary says yes, and declares that they told her that they were terrified of Jen. Whitney shares this information with her fellow housewife/ cousin, Heather Gay. The duo then decides to inform Jen about what's being spoken about her behind her back by Meredith and Lisa.

Whitney musters all of her courage and tells Jen about what she heard from Mary. Just as Jen was beginning to rage against Whitney and Meredith, the ladies come to her and clarify that they never had any such conversation with Mary. Lisa makes it clear that she is not afraid of Jen or anybody else from the group, while Meredith reveals that she never spoke of anything significant about Jen to Mary.

Lisa was so riled up against Whitney for her "childish" behavior that she confronts her for spreading false rumors. Whitney tries insisting that she's only repeating what she heard from Mary. As things kept getting uglier, Jen stormed out of the party shouting and crying. In the preview clip for the upcoming episode, we see Heather and Whitney discuss how Meredith and Lisa were blatantly lying to everybody's faces about their conversation with Mary, and their true feelings towards Jen. Whitney then calls up Mary and asks her if Lisa and Meredith did tell her that they were scared of Jen. Mary declares that they did, and she would never lie. Whitney and Heather choose to believe Mary and decide that Meredith and Lisa were lying. It will be interesting to watch Meredith and Lisa confront Mary about their conversations in the future episodes.

'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' airs every Wednesday at 10/9c only on Bravo.
