‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’: Teresa accuses Joe of not taking 'responsibility', fans set her right

We saw a classic example of 'pot calling the kettle black' play out in the finale episode of ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Season 10 when Teresa Giudice accused her husband Joe Giudice of not taking “responsibility” for his actions and for what he put their family through.

Fans were amused on hearing these words from Teresa considering she is the master of never taking responsibility or being accountable for her actions. For instance, just earlier in the episode, when the truth about her role in Margaret Josephs’s hair-pulling incident was revealed, instead of apologizing for her bad behavior, she threw her drink at Dolores Catania and stormed off. Later when Margaret sat down with Teresa, the OG housewife kept blaming her drinking for her behavior, instead of just readily apologizing.

After seeing Teresa’s behavior earlier in the episode, fans found it hard to empathize with the housewife’s troubles with her husband. Teresa and Joe got into trouble with the law. They both pleaded guilty to 41 counts of fraud, including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and three types of bankruptcy fraud. Teresa served 11 months in federal prison in 2015 while Joe served 41 months until  March 2019. Following his release, he was sent to an ICE detention center for not having obtained American citizenship, despite staying in the country for several years. He finally requested to be deported to Italy.

In the final episode, we see the Giudice girls make a trip to Italy to see Joe. Joe tries his best to woo Teresa back but the housewife didn’t seem to be interested in reconciliation. Later when they both sat down to discuss the future of their relationship, it became clear to them that their marriage was over. Teresa’s biggest bone of contention was that her husband hadn’t changed and still refuses to take responsibility for his actions.

Fans found it ironic that the housewife accused her husband of not taking any responsibility when she herself never does it for her own actions. A fan tweeted, “Teresa and Joe are perfect for each other. Neither of them can take responsibility for their actions. #RHONJ.” Another fan wrote, “People all across America are screaming at their TVs right now because Teresa had the nerve to say “it’s infuriating that after all this time Joe still won’t take responsibility after”  #RHONJ.”

“Teresa who has never taken any responsibility for anything she has ever done complains that Joe has not taken responsibility for what he’s done. #RHONJ," commented an annoyed fan. Another fan pointed, “Teresa is mad at someone for not taking responsibility for what they did? Now that is some ironic funny shit #RHONJ.”
