'RHOJ' star Jennifer Aydin says she will support her children in having cosmetic surgery if they are not happy with their looks
'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Jennifer Aydin recently opened up about how she was willing to let her kids go under the knife if they were not happy with their looks.
Jennifer, 43, who recently revealed on social media that she had undergone a tummy tuck surgery, told People TV in an interview that she felt more confident after the cosmetic procedure. "I feel great. Today's actually two weeks to the day, I am still wearing my compression garment, which is protocol after a traumatic surgery like that. So I wanted to be comfortable today," she said.
When asked if any of her kids had been pestering her about getting similar procedures done on their bodies, the reality TV star said that her daughter Gabby had asked her whether she could get laser hair removal done and being a mother, Jennifer had told to wait till she turned 16.
"They are children. At the end of the day, I want them to make the decision on their own. And I will support them in whatever they do. I just wanna make sure they are old enough and mature enough to just understand everything before they make that decision. But I am an advocate. If they are not happy with something, let's change it," she said.
She then told the hosts that the fact that her own husband, Dr. Bill Aydin performed the surgery meant that she was in the safest hands possible, but the decision to let him do it was not a smooth one.
"My husband did the tummy tuck, yes, which a lot of people were questioning and I have to say I had my concerns too because it is a very big surgery. And there are a lot of risks and possible complications. And I said to him, I was like, 'Babe, do you really want this kind of responsibility in your hands?' Because at the end of the day, I am fortunate enough, I can go to anyone of his colleagues," she said.
She added: "But he really looked me straight in the eye and he said, 'Nobody is going to take the meticulous time that I will.'"
The hosts of the show joked that it was a clever idea for Jennifer to opt for her husband as her doctor as he would not have heard the end of it if he had messed up the surgery and she wasn't happy with the results. The reality star did admit that it took quite a bit of convincing from her better half for her to say "yes" but at the end of it, not only was she "smitten, she was sold."
