'Real Housewives of Dallas': D’Andra’s birthday roast falls flat as the ladies play it safe, end up toasting her
D’Andra Simmons shocked everybody in town when she decided to celebrate her 50th birthday by having everybody roast her a la White House Correspondents Dinner style. The Dallas housewife is notorious for being very poor in accepting criticism or negative feedback, so when she decided to have others roast her, her fellow housewives were puzzled. One of them even remarked about whether D’Andra knew the meaning of roast or if she confused it with roasting food.
She invited all her fellow housewives- Brandi Redmond, Stephanie Hollman, Kameron Westcott and new housewife Kary Brittingham. D’Andra decided to extend an olive branch to former best-friend LeeAnne by inviting her to the party too.
Finally, the D-day arrived, and everybody made their way to the birthday girl’s party to roast her. Somebody asks D’Andra what made her decide to have a roast, a nervous D’Andra reveals that it was her mistake and that she was probably drunk on tequila when she came up with the idea. D’Andra who is well known for her need to be liked and accepted by everybody around her was putting herself out there to be criticized and made fun of in front of everybody on her special day.
We were very excited to have a good laugh with D’Andra, but unfortunately, her roast party turned out to be a toast party. With almost all the guests singing praises of D’Andra. Apart from fellow housewives Brandi and Stephanie, nobody roasted D’Andra. Technically, it was just Brandi who roasted D’Andra with her witty comment about how she expected D’Andra to bring class, sophistication, and money to their friend circle, but unfortunately, she didn’t bring any of it. However, Stephanie appeared to roast D’Andra’s husband Jeremy rather than D’Andra.
LeeAnne who walked in late to the party expressed her interest in roasting D’Andra, and we were excited about it. Considering, LeeAnne kept pointing out that nobody was roasting her former best friend. When she finally got onstage, even she disappointed us by offering to mend her friendship with D’Andra instead of roasting the birthday girl.
While D’Andra’s roast left us disappointed, she was extremely happy though. New housewife Kary offered to take D’Andra and her friends to her resort-style house in Mexico as her birthday present. We hope we get some drama from the ladies on the trip.
