Usually, when a new housewife is introduced on the 'Real Housewives' franchise, fans are immediately intrigued by the new cast member and take a lot of interest in them. Unfortunately, new housewife Elizabeth Lyn Vargas hasn't received the same response from 'Real Housewives of Orange County' fans. Vargas was introduced as the new housewife replacing Tamra Judge on Season 15. Vargas was introduced to the group as a friend of Kelly Dodd.

In the premiere episode, we saw Vargas showing off her beautiful house to her friends Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke. Both Dodd and Burke seemed to be in awe of the new housewife's wealth. While Dodd explained in her green room interview about how Vargas used to be married to a rich guy, has private jets and expensive homes, Burke recounted an incident when Vargas turned up to a very fancy club in her pajamas.

The new housewife did share some bits and pieces about her life during the episode. She spoke about her boyfriend, Jimmy, with whom she doesn't have an intimate relationship. Then she also spoke of her soon to be ex-husband, Bernt Bodal. She revealed how she grew up poor, but things changed when she met and fell in love with Bernt. She shared how when she realized that money could change everything, she began working tirelessly to make more money.

In the episode, Elizabeth made claims of having her heart broken by her husband's refusal to have children with her, but having one with another woman. Bernt's PR clarified that the reason for their divorce wasn't the child. The couple's divorce was reportedly finalized in July 2020, after being married for five years. Bernt and Elizabeth never lived together, as he was put up in Seattle, while Elizabeth was in Orange County. The PR also added that Bernt has been in a committed relationship with his girlfriend Michelle Fox since February 2018, and both Elizabeth and Bernt moved on right after the divorce filing.

Despite Vargas opening up about her life and trying to bond with her fellow housewives, fans don't seem to like her as much. A fan tweeted, "Not feeling Elizabeth so far! Nope not feeling her or her bad butt job! #RHOC." "I don't like Elizabeth so far #RHOC," wrote a fan. "Yup I’m not feeling Elizabeth #RHOC," echoed another fan.

Fans are also upset over the absence of Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge in the current season, which made them dislike Elizabeth more. A fan expressed, "I tried. I cant. Vicky gone... Tamra gone... Kelly still there. Cannot STAND annoying Elizabeth! Sorry Bravo... #RHOC." A user wondered, "You mean to tell me that I lost my favorite housewife @vgunvalson to get Elizabeth  #RHOC."
