'Real Housewives of Orange County': Fans blame Gina Kirschenheiter for jinxing year as she toasts to 'great 2020'
There are several adjectives that can be used to describe 2020, but "great" wouldn't be one of them. From Covid-19 pandemic that turned the world upside down to the death of legends like Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Chadwick Boseman, the year has been just a series of horrible and tragic events. So, when fans saw 'The Real Housewives of Orange County' stars toasting to a "great 2020", fans were left shocked.
On the latest episode of 'RHOC', which was filmed towards the end of 2019, just a few weeks before the dreaded pandemic took over the world, we see housewives Kelly Dodd, Elizabeth Lyn Vargas and Gina Kirschenheiter enjoying dinner at a restaurant. During the dinner, Gina vents out her angst and disappointment with fellow housewife Shannon Beador. Gina, who considered Shannon to be her close friends, was taken aback when she heard through grapevine that Shannon was calling her new condo "sad and depressing".
So, through the course of the dinner, the ladies begin bashing Shannon by calling her "elitist", and how difficult it is to get along with her. Once Gina was done venting her frustrations about how her house was being bashed by the other ladies, she turned her attention to Elizabeth's marriage. Elizabeth shut down all the talk by claiming that she was under a gag order and can't speak about her marriage or divorce due to strict orders from the court. When Gina turns the subject to her boyfriend and asks Elizabeth about it, the new housewife shuts that down too by saying she can neither confirm nor deny anything about her new boyfriend- Jimmy.
After discussing all these touchy subjects, the housewives raised their glasses and toasted to a better 2020. Gina expressed hope for a great next year, while the other two housewives seconded her saying the next year (2020) can only be better compared to what they have been through. Amused fans couldn't help but point out how 2020 has been one of the worst years in recent years and began blaming Gina for "jinxing" 2020 with her toast. A fan tweeted, "'2020 is definitely better than 2019' Sooo this is Gina's fault? #RHOC." Another fan pointed, "Damn !!! @GKirschenheiter jinxed 2020 #RHOC."

Another fan wrote, "2020 is better than 2019 #RHOC If only @GKirschenheiter knew what was to come!" "Bravo put in this scene about 2020 going to be so great and cheers-ing to 2020 purely to traumatize us all, thanks a lot #RHOC," joked a fan. "Oh, Gina, Kelly, and Elizabeth saying how great 2020 will be and how they have a feeling it will be so much better than 2019. How naive and hopeful we all were! #RHOC," reminisced another fan.
