'RHOC' star Lauri Peterson's son sues Orange County for jail attack that almost killed him
Josh Waring, son of former ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star Lauri Peterson has filed a lawsuit against Orange County for a prison attack which could have “killed him”. On Monday, the 32-year-old sued the Orange County and two Orange County Sheriff’s deputies working in the men’s central jail. According to Waring, the two deputies orchestrated an attack against him after he complained about them.
The attacks which took place in October 2019, were luckily captured on camera at the Orange County jail in Santa Ana. The video footage shows a man hiding under a staircase before leaping out to attack Waring, Although Waring put up a strong fight and defended himself, he was injured when his attacker pulled out two razor blades wrapped in a towel to attack him. Waring was left with “deep gashes” on his face and chest.
The fight lasted for about 90 seconds, before the guards stepped in and broke up the fight. This attack left Waring convinced that the deputies — Ever Zelaya and Ryan Hansen were the brains behind it. This wasn’t the first time for Zelaya to confront Waring. According to the 32-year-old, Zelaya once threatened him saying that he would “choke him”. Waring revealed that Zelaya threatened him saying, “You better watch the f*** out, I just killed the last guy who pissed me off and I got a paid vacation.”
On another occasion, both Hansen and Zelaya tried to hurt him by entering his prison cell in the middle of the night and throwing pepper spray balls. The former reality star’s son found himself in trouble with the law when he was found guilty of shooting a man outside of a sober living home. He was sentenced to four years in prison. DailyMail reported that he was released in March after he got a plea deal for pleading guilty to “several felony counts including assault with a firearm, evading a police officer, 2 counts of assault, hit-and-run with property damage and battery.”
Waring’s mother Lauri Peterson appeared in the first few seasons of ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’. She announced her exit from the show after it was revealed that her son was addicted to heroin and had relapsed.
