‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’: Cynthia's fiancé Mike leaves his daughter crying with insensitive remarks
There’s no denying that Mike Hill and Cynthia Bailey are totally smitten by each other. The newly-engaged couple is leaving no opportunity to express their love for each other and it was no different on the latest episode of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’. Cynthia goes to Mike’s place to spend a few days with him, and they decide to throw a small party for his friends so that the housewife can meet them.
To Cynthia’s surprise, all of Mike’s friends happen to be women, and things get a bit more strange when these women ask Mike some very intrusive questions about his relationship with the housewife. One of the girls asks Mike about his feelings for Cynthia, that is when Mike openly declares his love for his fiancé by saying that he was never in love with a woman until he met Cynthia. This moment would have been a very mushy and aww-inducing, if only his young daughter from a previous relationship wasn’t present there, which made it pretty insensitive on Mike's part.
Mike’s daughter obviously gets very upset over her father’s insensitive remarks. Mike and Cynthia follow her and make an attempt to console her, but soon leave her alone and come out to the hallway, and reassure themselves saying she’s too sensitive and needs some time to gather herself. The couple starts to make out. Fans, however, did not take this well. They were left fuming after watching Mike’s behaviour towards his daughter. A fan tweeted, “#RHOA what was Mike and Cynthia thinking it’s bad enough that that young girl has to see Mike being so in love and she wondering why he couldn’t be like that with her mother. Then he has to say he wasn’t ever in love with her mother.” Another fan wrote, “I feel so bad for Mike's daughter. I know he didnt mean to say what he said in front of her but oh my gosh that was horrible. This just all seems so overwhelming and stressful for her and to hear ur father say that about your mother...Oh my gosh. I hope shes ok. #RHOA.”
“So Mike thought it was smart to say he never been in love until he met Cynthia in front of his daughter? Who’s mother he was married to? Why do men do dumb shit like that?! Just admit you were trash! You didn’t just discover love, you are just in a new relationship! #RHOA,” wrote an annoyed fan. Another fan pointed out, “Mike is trash . He cheated on his first two wives ok but he’ll sit in front of his daughter, all of these people and the entire world and say that he’s never been in love before? beyond trash. Then he ain’t man enough to tell the cameras to stop #RHOA.” Another wrote: “Mike Hill saying in front of his daughter that he was NEVER in love was inappropriate AF! That’s so insensitive to say you never loved her mother. Damnnn #RHOA.”
Fans were also unhappy with the way Cynthia and Mike handled the situation after his daughter stormed away in tears. A fan expressed, “So Mike leave his daughter in the room crying & leave out to hug up on Cynthia in the hall. #RHOA.” Another fan suggested, “Mike should have checked on his daughter without Cynthia present #RHOA.” Another fan commented: “And Cynthia should have told Mike (when he left his daughter crying to makeout with her in the hall) to go back the f in the room w/his daughter and console her! #RHOA.”
