Who is Maureen? Meet the new 'Return to Amish' star ready to give up her career as an Amish school teacher
After watching her grandmother- Ada successfully leave her Amish community life behind and thrive in the outside world, Maureen too is determined to follow her grandmother's footsteps. So, Season 6 of TLC's 'Return to Amish' will introduce us to a new cast member- Maureen, who is keen on living in the outside world.
Maureen alongside her friend Rosanna is beyond excited to see what the world is like outside their tight-knit Amish community. Although Maureen is very excited about it she first has to make some very difficult decisions to step into the outside world. Read on to know more about Maureen and her life in the Amish community.

Who is Maureen?
Maureen is introduced on the show as a recurring cast member- Ada's granddaughter. Ada runs a home for ex-Amish who have left their communities in Florida. Maureen alongside her friend Rosanna plan on travelling to Florida to live with Ada. Maureen is an Amish School Teacher inside the community and seems to clearly love her job. She says in the trailer, "I love being an Amish school teacher, and if I leave the Amish it’s going to be so sad – like, I can’t see [my students] again and I’m going to miss them so much."
"I’m so attached to each of them. I know if I leave the Amish, my students will not respect me. They’ll think I’m a bad person," she expressed her fears about leaving the community. But that won't be holding Maureen back as she finally makes the bold decision to travel alongside her friend.
Life outside the Amish community for Maureen
Once Maureen stepped out of the Amish community, it didn't take her too long to learn the ropes of living outside. She managed to quickly make a boyfriend and seems to be head over heels in love with him. The young couple can also be seen kissing in the trailer. Unfortunately, Maureen's new relationship puts a major strain on her friendship with Rosanna. Rosanna feels that all Maureen does is talk about her new boyfriend and their relationship, and this doesn't sit well with her. So, when she confronts Maureen about it, things quickly go south, and both the girls get into a huge fight. Maureen declares that she never trusted Rosanna. Rosanna, on the other hand, wonder if the two can even be friends anymore.
Hopefully, both the friends manage to figure out a way to make their friendship work.
