'Record of Youth' Episode 6 Promo: Hae-hyo's jealousy over Jeong-ah's love for Hye-jun may end friendship
'Record of Youth' Episode 6 promo, released at the end of episode 5, begins with a strong hint that Jeong-ah accepts Hye-jun's love. The two are seen holding hands and walking down a street with a bright smile on their face. This is definitely indicative of how the feelings that the two of them have for each other will grow deeper over time. We also see Jeong-ah feel a tad bit unsure of the new relationship as she tells him that she cannot believe still that all of what has happened recently is real. We also see the two of them possibly step out for a date because Hye-jun and Jeong-ah are seen sitting all by themselves in a theater.
However, all that is sweet and romantic ends here, because right after, we see everything go wrong with Hye-jun's work life. He is initially ecstatic that he was finalized for a role in a mini-series and his mother also announces the same excitedly however, this might not really shape up. Right after this, we see Hye-jun go in search of his manager, but is unable to find her. In fact, he is unable to reach her by calls either and that is when he begins to get frustrated. We only hear Min-jae, his manager's voice claim that she doesn't deserve to be his manager. Could this be because she approached Hye-jun's former manager without being aware of what he had actually said to the producer of the drama?
We assume that this man was the one who had ruined Hye-jun's chances because in the promo we also see him tell Hye-jun that he will always stay as an obstacle to Hye-jun's ambition of becoming a successful actor. Amid all of this, we also see Hae-hyo's mother tell someone that the news needs to be kept from Hye-jun, but only until it can be directly informed. Did Hye-jun lose another role to his best friend because of the strings that his best friend's mother pulled? We do not know. However, one thing is certain. Hae-hyo has definitely developed feelings for Jeong-ah. He asks her out for dinner and Jeong-ah who believes that he is asking her as a friend despite the bouquet of flowers that he handed her tells him that she has an appointment to meet Hye-jun at this time.
He is visibly upset and it looks like this could very well result in jealousy that might break their relationship apart. However, what is shocking really is that Hye-jun's grandfather seems to have passed out, possibly after working hard to become a senior model. Is this the end for Hye-jun and his grandfather to realize their dreams?
'Record of Youth' originally airs on tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays in South Korea and can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
