Who is Bill Maher dating? Despite multiple relationships, the comedian has never been married
Renowned comedian Bill Maher has been quite active of late. Known for his no-holds-barred attitude, Maher trashed Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo during his show after the lawmaker was accused of sexual harassment by three women.
"How could a politician of this high-profile be this f---in' stupid?" Maher began. "We're four years into the MeToo era, he's this dumb that you don't hit on the help, don't touch people without their permission. ...What could this guy be thinking?" Maher said, according to Fox.
The double whammy attack and the f-bomb are vintage Maher. Just like his comedy, Maher also sticks to 'vintage' rules in his personal life, like the resolve to never get married. The 'Real Time' host's relationships and his views on marriage have always attracted attention.
Why hasn't Bill Maher married?
Apparently, he doesn't find the logic of staying with the same person for a lifetime remotely appealing. Last year, Maher made an appearance on 'The Howard Stern Show', whose host he shares a good relationship with. He spoke candidly to Stern about his reason for not marrying.
According to The Things, when Maher was asked by Stern about his desire to not marry, suggesting that marriage came in the way of being successful, Maher partly agreed to the theory.
Maher explained it was more than that. He revealed that he never really understood how anyone could be with the same person day after day. Maher made it clear during the interview that he was not big on monogamy and valued his 'me time.' He said: "I like all my time. I like to decide what to do with all MY time."
He has also used his official website to share his views on marriage, writing: "I'm the last of my guy friends to have never gotten married, and their wives — they don't want them playing with me. I'm like the escaped slave — I bring news of freedom."
Who is Bill Maher dating?
While he may not be interested in marriage, Maher has quite an extensive dating history. A 2019 Yahoo report says the comedian is currently dating a Canadian singer, Anjulie Persaud. The 37-year-old is of Indo-Guyanese descent and has collaborated with some major names in the music industry that include Diplo, Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, and Benny Benassi among others. He has been reportedly dating her since 2014 and that's quite a journey considering he's a man who gets bored of relationships pretty easily.
In 2003, Maher dated former Playboy Cyber Girl Coco Johnsen. Things ended on a sour note after she sued him for "pain and suffering" while adding he allegedly insulted, humiliated, and made degrading racial comments." Maher got over this disastrous relationship in arms of Karrine Steffans, a former hip hop model, who he began dating in 2005. There has been speculation about Maher's dating preferences and whether he is "into Black women", considering his relationships with both the women.
A Yahoo report on his dating history listed the many women he has hooked up with. He has reportedly dated model Vanessa Kay, had a fling with Aiko Tanaka, hooked up with actress Bai Ling, was spotted with pop singer Kaya Jones, was linked to WWE wrestler Rochelle Loewen, and has even dated actress Thora Birch.
