‘Real Housewives of Dallas’: Fans accuse LeeAnne Locken of being 'racist' after she commented on new housewife Kary Brittingham

Bravo’s mid-season trailer of ‘Real Housewives of Dallas’ has been released recently, and there’s no dearth of drama between the housewives. The trailer reveals some interesting stories which will unfold in the coming episodes. As per the Real Housewives franchise tradition, the housewives go on a fancy vacation- this year we’ll see the action straight from the beautiful sunny beaches of Thailand. Aside from soaking in the sun and culture of Thailand, the housewives make some time to give us meaty drama.

The trailer kicks off with D’Andra sporting a dress from LeeAnne’s L’Infinity range. In the trailer, D’Andra explains that she never wore a dress from her former best-friend’s collection and decided to try it. We aren’t sure if the reality star intentionally chose an ill-fitted dress or received it that way, but she can be seen wearing a badly-fitted dress. On seeing this, LeeAnne gets furious and directs her anger towards not only D’Andra but also new housewife Kary Brittingham. According to the reality star, the new housewife teamed up with her former friend to mock her. And this is where it gets juicy.

In the same clip, we see LeeAnne calling Kary a “chirpy Mexican” in a conversation with Kameron. We later see the furious housewife’s outburst about Kary to Stephanie, in which she can be heard yelling, “Come on, Mexican! I thought you were all Mexican and strong.” Both the women go and inform Kary about LeeAnne’s outbursts. LeeAnne’s repeated addressing of Kary as ‘Mexican’ had both the cast members and fans calling her out as racist. We see Kam’s husband Court saying that they don’t tolerate racist behavior and D’Andra confronts LeeAnne about her choice of words while referring to Kary. The clip ends with a producer asking Brandi if she thinks LeeAnne is a racist in her green-room interview. Unfortunately, we do not get to see Brandi’s response, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the feisty ginger feels that LeeAnne is racist.

Fans were divided when it came to decide whether LeeAnne was a racist or not based on the clip. While the reality star’s loyal fan-base maintain a strong stance that their favorite housewife “doesn’t have a racist bone in her body”, many others feel that the housewife was being a racist. A fan wrote in support of LeeAnne, “@LeeAnneLocken I and so many more people can say that you do not have a racist bone in your body. You have such a diverse group of friends if they knew that then they wouldn’t say the things they are saying. I’m not condoning any of those words but we have all said somethings”.

Many fans felt that the reality star’s behavior was extremely racist and shared the same. “LeeAnne knows exactly what the hell she is saying and so do the rest of you. It was RACIST! PERIOD! #rhod”, wrote a fan. Fans who felt that the reality star was racist began asking that she be fired from the show. A fan tweeted, “#RHOD viewers! Wait until y’all watch the mid season trailer, in case y’all haven’t! I’m disappointed in #BravoTV for employing a racist! If Phaedra was fired from #RHOA , LeeAnne deserves to also be fired! I will not put up with racism in this day and age!”
