WASHINGTON, DC: Representative Rashida Tlaib recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a one-and-a-half-minute video in an attempt to pressure President Joe Biden to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

The video juxtaposes clips of Biden vowing to "stand with Israel" and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanking the POTUS for his "unequivocal support" with footage of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza and injured and dead Palestinians.

This comes days after the Michigan Congresswoman dodged a censure vote in the House over her apparent history of anti-Israel remarks and participation in a pro-Palestinian protest, as reported by the New York Post.

What did Rashida Tlaib say in the video?

In the video, Rashida Tlaib, an outspoken critic of Israel’s response to the Hamas attack of October 7, is heard saying, "Mr President, the American people are not with you on this one. We will remember in 2024."

The video shows footage of large pro-Palestinian protests in the battleground states of Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, as well as others, with chants of "From the river to the sea," "No peace on stolen land," and "The occupation’s got to go" as subtitles.

At the end of the clip, it's stated, "Joe Biden supported the genocide of the Palestinian people. The American people won’t forget. Biden, support a ceasefire now or don’t count on us in 2024."

In addition to denouncing Israel's supposed occupation of the Palestinian territories, the congresswoman also holds Israel responsible for the rocket attack on al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City on October 17.

This is in contradiction to the White House's stand, which, much like the Israeli government, holds Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a radical group that often works with Hamas, responsible for the attack.

Rashida Tlaib has found support from some other lawmakers

Several left-wing lawmakers have echoed Rashida Tlaib's call for a ceasefire by Israel.

They include Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Congresswoman Cori Bush, as well as Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin.

On November 1, when Tlaib faced a resolution to censure her for her anti-Israel stand, the lower chamber blocked it by voting 222-186.

Notably, President Joe Biden has recently expressed a desire for a "pause" in fighting to "give time to get the prisoners out" as demand for a ceasefire remains on the rise.
