R. Kelly forced minor to have sex with him and gave her genital herpes, says new federal charges against singer

New charges have been filed against singer R. Kelly making his case bigger than it was before. The new cases were filed by the federal prosecutors in Brooklyn which accused the singer of having sex with the victim when she was a minor. The new charges also indicated that Kelly had given her genital herpes.
These accusations were filed by Jane Doe No. 5 who stated that she was transported across the state in 2015 for the purposes of sex. The court documents also revealed that she was forced by Kelly to have sex with him while she was a minor.
Another victim of Kelly, Faith Rodgers, has also accused the singer of giving her herpes after he had sex with her in 2017. She was 19 at that time. In the court documents, Rodgers has been identified as "Jane Doe No. 6". Rodgers has also gone public with these allegations against the singer as she filed a court case of her own in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Steve Greenberg, Kelly’s lawyer, stated that these new allegations were made to "fine-tune" the court judgments against the singer, as reported by Page Six. “It doesn’t really change the basic allegations and it doesn’t really change our approach,” Greenberg said.
This news comes after Greenberg recently filed papers in Brooklyn that stated that a New York state law prohibiting people with sexually-transmitted diseases from having sex was unjust as it invades privacy. “This statute is facially unconstitutional. It prohibits sexual intercourse by anybody who has an STD. The definition is vast, ranging from HIV to yeast infections… It includes HPV and ‘scabbies',” Greenberg had stated.
“The only requirement is that the individual knows that they have venereal disease. In other words, it prohibits two consenting adults from having sexual intercourse if either, or both, know that they have an infectious venereal disease,” he continued. “It does not require that the disease be passed on, nor does it allow the consenting adults to have sexual intercourse if the venereal disease is disclosed beforehand. It does not permit the use of a condom, or account for modern-day suppression drugs.”
As of now, no date has been set in the court for Kelly after these new allegations came to light.
