QAnon representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was thrown out of the House floor on Sunday, January 3, because she was not wearing a face mask. Greene went for Congress' first session of the new year, which began with Democrats and GOP members shouting at each other. However, the 46-year-old was not allowed to attend it, The Sun reported.

NBC News reporter Jake Sherman, who was present for the opening day session in Washington DC, tweeted, “2 new Republicans — including @mtgreenee — are being told by House floor staff that they have to put their masks on. As of now, they seem to be telling the floor staff that they will not put it on. Taylor Greene is leaving the floor with the other R, who we're trying to ID.” Minutes later, a screaming match started between the two rival parties. “Now, the Republican and Democratic floor staff are in a screaming match on the floor. So this Congress is going great already,” another tweet from Sherman read. Reports stated that the sreaming between Democrats and Republicans was the result of President Donald Trump's baseless allegation of voter fraud that led to Joe Biden’s victory.

About 140 members of the GOP are also planning to vote to decertify Biden's win on January 6. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Greene are also among those. Hawley has said, “I cannot vote to certify the electoral college results on January 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, failed to follow their own state election laws. And I cannot vote to certify without pointing out the unprecedented effort of mega-corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere in this election, in support of Joe Biden."

In addition, Trump declared on New Year that he will hold a rally at 11 am on January 6. “The BIG Protest Rally in Washington, D.C., will take place at 11.00 A.M. on January 6th. Locational details to follow. StopTheSteal!” the president wrote on Twitter, which attracted a lot of attention as one user said, “WARNING: Nazis, racists, white supremacists, fake Christians, degenerates, hillbillies, rednecks, pedophiles, sex traffickers, conspiracy theorists, idiots, skinheads, and assorted other trash human beings headed to DC on January 6!” Another commented, “Trump has conned a dangerously large number of Americans into believing there was major election fraud. Americans need to see through this HUGE CON. Judge after judge has ruled against Trump's claims of fraud. Trump needs to stop dividing the nation & admit the truth: HE LOST.”

But Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has kept himself out of the “decertifying” group. A source paraphrased McConnell in a statement by saying, “I'm finishing 36 years in the Senate and I've cast a lot of big votes. And in my view, just my view, this is will be the most consequential I have ever cast.” The source further added, "The context was McConnell saying we're being asked to overturn the results after a guy didn't get as many electoral votes and lost by 7 million popular votes."
