'Put politics aside for one day': Internet slams Biden campaign's Thanksgiving guide to respond to MAGA relatives
WASHINGTON, DC: The Biden campaign has released a list of Thanksgiving talking points titled 'Your handy guide for responding to crazy MAGA nonsense this Thanksgiving'.
Biden-Harris HQ, the official digital rapid response channel of the Biden-Harris campaign, released the not-so-festive talking points on their X account on November 23.
In a series of threads, the list discusses the inflation rate, Donald Trump's position in the presidential polls, and his take on the abortion ban.
What are the Biden campaign's Thanksgiving talking points?
The "handy guide" contains the possible discussion topics a Trump supporter might bring up and has the counterclaims for a Joe Biden supporter to respond with.
For instance, the first on the list reads, "The economy was better during Trump!" And the counterpoint is, "Wrong. Inflation is the lowest it's been in two years, the economy is growing, and unemployment has been under 4% for the longest stretch on record. Just look at your Thanksgiving costs compared to last year – gas prices: cheaper. Turkey: cheaper. Eggs: cheaper. Joe Biden has created nearly 14 million jobs and the economy is on the rise."
The other topics in the list include social security and medicare, immigration, abortion rights, jobs and workers, leadership on the world stage, and the polls. Each contains a claim that Donald Trump has made, and the Biden campaign's counterclaim.

According to the list, Trump will not protect the country's social security and medicare. It claims he only cares about himself, failed to protect the borders and left behind a "broken immigration system" for Biden to clean up. On abortion rights, the campaign says if Trump is elected, there will be a federal abortion ban, and that if Biden wins in 2024, he will try to restore Roe v Wade.

Regarding jobs and workers, the incumbent's campaign claims the former president shipped jobs overseas, forced to shutter factories, and reduced rich people's taxes. It also counters Trump's claims that world leaders respect him while "they literally laughed and mocked Trump at the UN." According to the Thanksgiving list, the billionaire is not winning the polls, and "Biden's agenda is going to win again next November."
Campaign list contradicts Joe Biden's Thanksgiving message
Biden's Thanksgiving message to the American people was a reminder of how divided the country has become. He called for national unity, calling the people to "stop the rancor."
"We can have different political views, but we have one view. The one view is that we're the finest, greatest nation in the world. We should focus on that," Biden said.
"We should focus on dealing with our problems and being together and stop the rancor. We have to bring the nation together and treat each other with a little bit of decency, and I think that's where the vast majority of the American people are," he added.
However, the Biden-Harris campaign appeared to contradict the message on the same day by giving a list to help his supporters navigate "nonsense" political talk at the Thanksgiving table.
Netizens slam Biden campaign's Thanksgiving discussion points
Social media severely criticized the campaign for trying to divide the country on the occasion of celebrating the blessing of the past year. Social media reactions show that people want to celebrate the holiday with their families and avoid political discussions.
