Businessman-turned-Presidential hopeful, Vivek Ramaswamy seemed to stand for the striking autoworkers at first as he shared a personal account of his own family struggling in America.
"I have been through hardship growing up," the GOP candidate said, "My father stared down at lay-offs at GE [General Eelectric] under Jack Welch's tenure at the GE Plant in Evendale, Ohio. My mom had to work overtime in nursing homes in Southwest Ohio to make ends meet and pay our home loan."

"We choose to be victorious in the USA," he said, "I would say [to the workers] go picket in front of the White House in Washington, DC. That's where the protest really needs to be."
Here, the presidential candidate called out the government for the inflation rates and the failing economy which has caused the drop in wages, pulling the blame away from the Big Three automobile manufacturers.
Vivek Ramaswamy defends capitalism as the 'best system known to man'
Carrying his entrepreneurial spirit to the debate, Ramaswamy placed emphasis on the usage of energy to fuel the growth and development of America.
"We need to deliver economic growth in this country," he added, "Unlock American energy: drill, frack, burn coal, embrace nuclear energy. Put people back to work by no longer paying them more money to stay at home."
Ramaswamy, true to his nature, supported capitalism as an "American vision" that will serve as the solution to all the economic troubles that the country is facing.
"That's not a Democratic vision or a Republican vision," he continued, "That is an American vision that we embrace economic growth and capitalism is still the best system known to man to lift us up from poverty. And we should not apologize for it."
