Monday returns and with it, ABC brings more of the family drama and lies buried in the Sandoval family to light as the powerplays continue.  Love, greed, and decades-old secrets threaten to come out as various family members get involved in messy situations.

So far on 'Promised Land' we have seen Margaret actively trying to take down Joe and grab his business with their son Antonio in on the coup. We also saw Joe and Lettie's relationship thrown into discord after she lied to him about her ex and Mateo's father Billy/Father Ramos being in town despite knowing about their fractured relationship. Here's what to expect in the upcoming episode.

'Promised Land' fans say a lot to unpack in first episode, laud 'superb storytelling'

Previously on 'Promised Land' we learned that Margaret (Bellamy Young) was the one who purposely had Billy aka Father Ramos (Yul Vazquez) transferred to Sonoma by bribing a church official. She despises Joe (John Ortiz) and Lettie (Cecilia Suárez) and even threatened Lettie with a secret we are yet to learn about. Although she may have ignited a flame of mistrust between the husband and wife, it looks like her plan to come after and ruin their marriage ends there. The promo shows Billy/Father Ramos telling Margaret that whatever she has against Joe, he will not be part of destroying Lattie's marriage to him.

Coming to another Sandoval, we see Veronica (Christina Ochoa) continue to pay a man to spy on her husband with the man that seems perfect in fact staying out partying till late after lying about being elsewhere on business. Transporting us to the past we see a young Lettie worriedly asking a young Billy about the identity of the man who just showed up on the vineyard. The young ones just can't seem to catch a break as a potential new threat arrives. On the love front, we see Mateo (Augusto Aguilera) kiss Daniela,(Natalia del Riego) Sandoval's former maid, with Lettie later questioning her about whether they are an item or not. Her undocumented status was why she had to be fired, so we can expect some pushback from Joe in regards to his step-son's love life.

The promo also sees Anotonio (Tonatiuh )tell his sister Veronica that he wants to be CEO. He already is scheming to take over the business from Joe but an upfront demand to hold the title of power could possibly advance his plan as well. Ending on an explosive more we see Billy/ Father Ramos land a punch on Joe's face. So what happened there? Did Bily succumb to Margaret's tactics? Watch the upcoming episode to find out!

'Promised Land' returns with a new episode on Monday at 10 pm ET on ABC.
