Dayoung Kim's journey on 'Project Runway' was cut short by her illness. She had been weak since the very beginning but her passion for design and creativity kept her going. But this week it got too much for the Seoul-born designer and she decided to quit. She thought it was best for her to leave the show so that her ill health doesn't end up bothering her fellow contestants.

Right from the word go, she started to feel sick in her stomach and eventually came down with a fever. In the previous episode, she complained of feeling empty from within and that she wasn't able to focus on her work. The producers wanted to call the medic but she wanted to give it a shot, and with the help of other designers, she was able to finish the challenge and also ranked as one of the top contestants of the week.

Geoffrey Mac, who has been extremely affectionate and a dear friend to Dayoung, was deeply affected because he has always been the one supporting her. He was crushed when she decided to quit. To settle the missing spot on the show, Marquise Foster was brought back for the sheer challenge.

However, in the after-show chat, she said she was doing much better than before and even advised everyone to stay hydrated and eat in between lengthy work hours. She told mentor Christian Siriano how she had not started the show on a healthy note.

Dayoung has traveled extensively but finally chose to settle in Portland, Oregon, where she started her own line Moirai. Dayoung's style is effortless and sophisticated with "balanced elements of feminine and masculine design", Bravo reported. Even though she has not won a round so far, Dayoung has left a mark with her carefully crafted designs that were true to every challenge the contestants were tasked with.

Meanwhile, fans are happy that Marquise has replaced Dayoung and couldn't be more thrilled to have him back on the show.

"Can't lie, felt like Dayoung gave up and I was mad I wasn't going to see her work. Then they said Marquise was coming back and that changed everything. I love him and am happy about what's gone done. Still want a suit from Dayoung though... #ProjectRunway," a fan wrote.

Another posted: "Marquiseee Im so happy they brought him back even though my girl DaYoung left #ProjectRunway (sic)."
