The Daily Mail reported that the 21-year-old girlfriend of the professional bull rider has been charged with first-degree murder and third-degree felony discharge of a firearm. Allen was at the Utah State Fair to compete in a rodeo. He had arranged to stay with Bagley. The two reportedly first met in Houston.

The duo attended the fair together and later left for a bar. The two then got into an argument where Allen said he wanted to return to Bagley's apartment to pack his things, as revealed by the cops.  The cops discovered bullet holes coming from a nearby apartment that belonged to Bagley. According to the investigation, blood evidence was found outside the apartment hinting that Allen was not inside when he was shot. Salt Lake City Police shared that there was “no indication of any forced entry or attempted forced entry into the apartment.”
