Demetrius Omar Lateef Allen: Professional bull rider, 27, shot dead by girlfriend, 21, in Utah
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: A professional bull rider identified as Demetrius Omar Lateef Allen was shot dead by his on-and-off girlfriend after the pair attended the Utah State Fair on Monday, September 12. The 27-year-old bull rider famously went with the professional nickname 'Ouncie Mitchell'. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Allen is survived by his four-year-old daughter from a previous partner named Nyteshea Haywood.
According to The Daily Mail, was found with “at least one gunshot wound” outside an apartment that belonged to 21-year-old LaShawn Denise Bagley. The cops revealed that the incident was isolated and was related to a domestic dispute between Allen and Bagley with “no threat to the public at this time.” The publication revealed that Bagley is currently being held at Salt Lake County Metro Jail without bond as cops continue to investigate.

The Daily Mail reported that the 21-year-old girlfriend of the professional bull rider has been charged with first-degree murder and third-degree felony discharge of a firearm. Allen was at the Utah State Fair to compete in a rodeo. He had arranged to stay with Bagley. The two reportedly first met in Houston.
The duo attended the fair together and later left for a bar. The two then got into an argument where Allen said he wanted to return to Bagley's apartment to pack his things, as revealed by the cops. The cops discovered bullet holes coming from a nearby apartment that belonged to Bagley. According to the investigation, blood evidence was found outside the apartment hinting that Allen was not inside when he was shot. Salt Lake City Police shared that there was “no indication of any forced entry or attempted forced entry into the apartment.”
The Texas native, who competed under the name Ouncie Mitchell, was ranked 23rd in the nation by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, as reported by Fox 13 News. Detective Michelle Peterson told the outlet, “These two, we believe knew each other, they had attended the fair and then ended up at a bar and ended up arguing” adding, “Then the male wanted to get some of his property from the apartment that he was staying in, while he was attending the fair and a gun was pulled out and he was shot.” A witness confirmed that Allen did not attempt to force his way into Bagley's apartment.
