'Private Lives' Episode 7: Joo-eun, Jeong-hwan busy unraveling GK secrets, how long before their paths cross?
'Private Lives' Episode 7 begins by revealing how Jeong-hwan (Go Kyung-pyo) and Edward Kim's (Kim Young-min) paths crossed in the past as mentor and mentee and what really tore them apart. It looks like the incident has to do with a fire in which Edward had informed Jeong-hwan of a change in the target at the very last minute, which then causes a huge burst. However, if this was only a mistake, why does Jeong-hwan seem to hate his mentor so much. Until now, he had believed that his boss at GK had also been unaware of Edward's location, however, turns out he had been lied to all this while. It is with Bok-ki's (Kim Hyo-jin) case that Jeong-hwan ends up learning secrets that he was never meant to stumble upon.
As he began to track Edward Kim, he also began to learn that no one at GK Technology was to be trusted. As soon as Edward learned that Bok-gi had approached Spy Lee to track him down, he contacted his former boss at GK to get a chance to take Spy Lee out if possible. Just as he had expected Jeong-hwan got close to him while no one else could, and so, Edward hopes to turn this into an opportunity. Even as Edward and Mr. Kim meet, we are taken back to a time when Edward was nothing but a high school student and learn of his traumatic childhood. This event also leads us to believe that the reason why Edward worked with GK was to exact revenge. If that is the case, this show has just gotten a lot more complex than it was even until the last episode.
So while Edward is busy playing his own game, Joo-eun (Seohyun) decides to give running Spy Lee Detective office a chance. She wants to do what her husband who she believed was dead had done for a living and in that vein, she accepts her first client as Bok-gi. So she returns to the mansion where she was caught last time almost, but this time she goes there with Bok-gi. Of course, Edward is a lot smarter and so he sets a trap and that results in the mansion exploding in Joo-eun's face. First Bok-gi runs away from the mansion fearing for her life, but not too much later, she returns with a fire extinguisher, saves Joo-eun, and even admits her at a hospital.
The men who have been trying to find Bok-gi end up tracking her down to the hospital and attempt to kill her, but she manages to get away only with Spy Lee's help. Of course, neither she nor Joo-eun realizes that he is alive. However, once the two of them get away, they hole up in a hotel where Han Son visits with dongchimi (radish soup). He is extremely worried and the only way he can think of comforting her is by giving her dongchimi which he claims is the best medicine for gas poisoning.
Can GK really keep Jeong-hwan, one of their best shadow agents, from finding out the secret that all of them seem to be hiding? We are not sure, but what we do want to be sure about is the fact that Joo-eun and Jeong-hwan get to meet soon and can work together.
