'Private Lives' Episode 11 Review: Will Jeong-hwan sacrifice his freedom for Joo-eun's safety?
Kwon Hyuk-jang is the man who GK seems to be targeting at the moment and Lee Jeong-hwan was able to find the connection out by interrogating the first corporate employee that he was asked to discredit through his divorce. Turns out, there is more to this plan than that met Jeong-hwan's eye and now he is unraveling and in the process, he has ended up making GK the enemy. This has now put even Joo-eun in danger. The question now is if Bok-gi will side with Jeong-hwan and Joo-eun or if she will partner with Edward Kim again.
We see Bok-gi arrive at Edward's gukbap (rice soup) shop, but instead of going inside and confronting him, she ends up writing him a sarcastic note that reads "Beware of dog". So it is clear that she is mad at him for betraying her and taking off with the money that the two of them made while conning people. However, is she mad enough to lead him into a trap and exact revenge? While she contemplates what choice to make, Joo-eun and Jeong-hwan have come up with a plan now that they realize GK wants to back Yoo Byung-jun. Joo-eun and Han Son end up playacting like investigators and they intercept the witness who had arrived to give fake testimony that Joo-eun was an industrial spy and connect her to a scandal with the presidential candidate that GK wants to fail.
Joo-eun is able to work out this plan of stopping the fake witness from appearing with the help of a cop, who is initially hesitant because he is a witness to Joo-eun's crimes. As a cop, he is ridden with guilt but when he realizes how it is the police that is falsely accusing Joo-eun, he has a change of heart. With this, GK's plans of bringing Kwon Hyuk-jang goes up in brilliant flames. Not only do Joo-eun and Han Son remove the witness from the real police station, but they also bring him to a fake police precinct where they end up interrogating the fake witness. Turns out he is really the Chinese spy and so, Han Son and Joo-eun end up scaring him into telling them who put him up to giving a fake statement. They then attempt to lead the witness away from the capital, and out through illegal means.
Jeong-hwan knows his mentor best, so he is able to thwart Edward's plans entirely. At least, that is what Jeong-hwan believes when he hears that the Chinese spy has left the country by ship, but he is in for a surprise if he believed that this was the end. His meeting with the presidential candidate that GK is opposed to takes an interesting turn as he is asked to join the candidate's side, and in a clandestine manner at that. In return, Joo-eun's safety is guaranteed. Jeong-hwan, tells Joo-eun that he will accept the offer because Joo-eun's safety is on the line. He then lies to her again that he is going to meet his tech assistant, but ends up meeting his former boss at GK. Is this a ruse?
