The marriage certificate of the couple at their home reportedly shows the date of the secret ceremony that was only attended by the Archbishop of Canterbury

Harry and Meghan Markle's iconic 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle is still unofficially considered an affair of the century by people worldwide. However, in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex dropped a shocking fact within the first few minutes. They were, in fact, already married when they said 'I do' to each other in front of the world. 

When Oprah inquired about her royal life, Meghan revealed that the couple was married for three days when their official wedding happened in public on May 19, 2018.

What did Meghan tell Oprah about their secret wedding?

Harry and Meghan already exchanged their vows three days before, reportedly on May 16, 2018, in an intimate ceremony in their backyard, officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury. In fact, Meghan added that the wedding vows that they have framed in their room are actually from their secret ceremony, not from their gala Royal wedding. 

Meghan unveiled the shocking fact after Oprah asked her what excited her about her new life as royalty. She responded, "Just being able to live authentically... it's so basic but it's really fulfilling," reports Town and Country Mag. 

She went on to add, "I was thinking about it, you know our wedding — three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that. We called the Archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world. But we want our union between us, so the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury and that was the piece that..."

At this moment, Harry affirmed Meghan's story saying - "Yeah, just the three of us." It was also revealed that the marriage certificate at the couple's home sports the date of the secret ceremony.

Meghan hinted at untold secrets about her royal life and gave insights into her alleged mistreatment by the British Royal family during the interview. However, viewers were hardly ready to grasp such a massive truth bomb and internet was flooded with a plethora of emotions. One user referred to the iconic TV wedding of 'The Office' characters Jim and Pam, saying, "HARRY AND MEGHAN PULLED A JIM AND PAM FOR THEIR WEDDING. I love that for them #HarryandMeghanonOprah."

"What? They got married three days before the actual wedding? Awe... that's so wonderful. Something that's private between them. This user drew a similarity with the famous Game of Thrones secret wedding between Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. "It’s not my right at all to see photos of Meghan and Harry’s secret wedding but I want to see photos of Meghan and Harry’s secret wedding," wrote one excited fan.
