Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make Kensington Palace their residence, and here's who their neighbors are
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are all set to inherit Kensington Palace as their place of residence. The couple was previously staying in their modest two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage but after their wedding which took place on May 19, the couple will be getting an upgrade as they are going to shift into apartment 1, which boasts 21 bedrooms, according to Cosmopolitan.
However, at the moment, apartment 1 is occupied by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester but with the newlyweds into the picture, it is no doubt that they will be relocated before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex settle in.
But here's a list of people who stay at the palace and will be neighbors to Harry and Meghan.
#1 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Prince William and Kate Middleton live in apartment 1A along with their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The apartment has a total of 20 rooms and previously belonged to Princess Margaret. The apartment was renovated in order to sit into the liking of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The family moved into the apartment in 2013 and has been living there ever since.
#2 The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester live in apartment 1 which is right next to Prince William and Kate's. Harry and Meghan are said to move into the same apartment which means they will soon be moving into another apartment. The couple moved into the apartment after their wedding which took place in 1972 and ever since then they have been living there with their three kids — Alexander Windsor, Earl of Ulster, Lady Davina Lewis.
#3 The Duke and Duchess of Kent
The Duke and Duchess of Kent reside in Wren House. The house was named after Britain's most distinguished architect Christopher Wren. The pair has been staying there since 1996.
#4 Prince and Princess Michael of Kent
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent have lived in the palace since 1978. The apartment has five-bedrooms and five-reception rooms. Previously, there was controversy surrounding the house as it was reported Queen had been covering the £10,000 a month rent for them. However, the palace later came out with a statement and dismissed the claims.
#5 Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank
Following their engagement, the couple has moved out of St James's Palace residence and have made Kensington Palace's Ivy Cottage as their residence. The cottage has three bedrooms and is next door to newlyweds Harry and Meghan in Nottingham Cottage.
