Following Prince Harry's and Meghan Markle's public split from the royal family and their move to Canada, questions have been raised on how the couple plans to make a living with their newfound freedom. However, that will hardly prove to be a headache, according to TMZ, who are reporting that they could command upwards of $500,000 each to speak at various events.

The pair had announced earlier this month that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family and making a "transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role" within the monarchy. That progressive new role would include financial independence, something they could exploit in an array of different ways, which includes the aforementioned public speaking events.

GDA Speakers, whose clients include the likes of Nicole Kidman and Diane Keaton, have predicted that the Sussexes would earn quite a bit of money by speaking at non-profits and volunteer-based organizations. The company said Harry and Meghan could, quite easily, command more than the standard rates of $200,000 to $300,000 that most celebrities earn because of their unique status, though even that sum will pale in comparison to the money there's to be made in books.

The numbers would be equally staggering even if they decided to take up joint speaking appearances, which could net them $1 million in total. If they speak longer, and if these appearances include Q&As and meet and greets, their prices will increase even further, TMZ reported.

Sports agent Darren Prince also revealed to the outlet that the couple could bank at least $8 million to $10 million in just the advance alone if they agree to a book deal and that the final amount could be much higher as they could ostensibly spark a massive bidding war for their stories.

The figure could represent one of the biggest, if not the biggest, book deal ever signed if they decide to go for a tell-all royal biography, with Prince suggesting it could surpass former First Lady Michelle Obama's incredibly lucrative deal for her memoir 'Becoming'.

There have been rumors that Meghan could seek millions in hush money from the royal family to stop her from publishing a tell-all book that paints them in a very unflattering light. "Apparently, Meghan told friends that life behind the palace walls is toxic and even accused the royals of sexism and racism," a source had explained. "The royals fear that she’ll want $90 million from the coffers to finance their new life in return for keeping her mouth shut!"
