In the latest blow to Prince Harry, his brainchild Invictus Games is under threat from coronavirus.

The event that is meant for injured service personnel usually receives thousands of fans from around 20 countries which will prove to be a massive risk with the disease spreading the way it is. The event was to be held in The Hague in the Netherlands which confirmed its first case of the virus on February 27.

As reported by The Sun, sources shared that the rapid spread of the virus has led to a lot of chaos. One source revealed: "There is a huge amount of concern and a lot of attention is being paid to how Holland deals with the virus and whether it spreads. There are concerns that many will be forced to stay at home — particularly if the situation does develop into a pandemic."

"Organisers are also worried about the dangers in the current climate of putting so many disabled athletes together in one place from different countries for a week. It is a logistical nightmare and a real worry for the people planning it," the source continued.

It was just last week that Harry was seen smiling as he recorded a charity song for the event with rockstar Jon Bon Jovi. However, the confirmation of the coronavirus case could see all plans called off which is a massive blow for Harry who had created the games in 2014 after drawing inspiration by the US Warrior Games.

This would have been the fifth and also Harry's most high profile event ever since he decided to step down from official public duties. His wife Meghan Markle is also expected to attend the event.

"Harry takes the Games incredibly seriously and will be desperate to make sure they are a big success," the source shared.

A games spokesman shared that organizers "are planning responses to various scenarios."
