The month of June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. Bringing the TV show 'Killing Eve' into prominence, a new hashtag started trending on Twitter, called #KillingEveQueers. It started with the tweet: "In honor of Pride Month, I wanted to start the #killingevequeers tag to show our PRIDE and love for 'Killing Eve', our favorite tv show! Every sexuality/gender is welcome to join!"

Soon, it became one of the top trends as people shared their pictures imitating characters from BBC America's 'Killing Eve' — Eve Polastri, played by Sandra Oh and Villanelle, essayed by Jodie Comer. "#killingevequeers villanelle step on me pls I bought you flowers," one said and another posted, "#KillingEve started wondering why the HUGE possibility of the relationship between Villanelle and Eve to stand on a platonic level affected me personally so much."

The show centers around the two strong female characters, who develop an obsession with each other, despite the fact that Villanelle is an assassin and Eve is an ex-MI6 operative. Showering love on the two audacious characters, people soon started sharing their pictures online and it became a huge trend. "Hi I’m Hannah and would happily let villanelle kill me x #killingevequeers," one Twitter user said and another posted, "#killingevequeers wait a damn minute I'm one of those queers."

Even those who weren't participating started enjoying it. "*scrolling through the #killingevequeers * THIS FANDOM IS THE PRETTIEST I ACCEPT NO OBJECTION," one tweet read and another said, "Holy s**t the #killingevequeers tag has me veryyy gay why is everyone attractive as f**k." Another said, "LOL about that whole thing that we don’t really exist or look like the back end of a bus — these #killingevequeers are FIIINE." One even went on to say: "This fandom is full of f**king psychotic a** crackheads but y’all are all HOT AF!"

One said, "#killingevequeers I'm not an assassin, but I love women too," and another posted, "I know I posted some selfies earlier already but i kinda wanted to join since i came out bi so recently and it’s my first time. #killingevequeers." Another fan wrote: "slowly slowly catchy ducky #killingevequeers," for an episode that was named 'Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey'.

Season 3 just aired on BBC America and ended with a major shocker. In the final episode, Eve admits when she thinks about her future Villanelle's face is all she sees, and even though Villanelle quips hers is too beautiful a face to overlook, it all boils down to their monsters within. The end left fans wondering if their connection is deeper than a rushed kiss and only time will tell what it really is.
