A two-part movie, 'Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie' acts as a follow-up to the third season of the reboot, 'Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal'. The new series aims at being much more authentic to the source material, the manga, as opposed to borrowing from the old series.

Plot

The story follows Usagi Tsukino, a young girl who obtains the power to transform into Sailor Moon. Along with other Sailor Guardians, it is up to them to battle evil forces and find Princess Serenity and the Silver Crystal.

The official synopsis states: "The upcoming adventures are set in April, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and Tokyo is in a festive mood as it celebrates the largest Total Solar Eclipse of the century. As the new moon obscures the sun and gradually dims its light, Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter Pegasus, who is in search of the chosen Maiden who can break the seal of the Golden Crystal. Meanwhile, a mysterious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus appears in town who’s nefarious plan is to scatter the nightmare incarnations known as Lemures, seize the ‘Legendary Silver Crystal,’ rule over the moon and the earth, and eventually dominate the entire universe."

Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask is voiced by Kenji Nojima and Mutsumi Tamura and by Robbie Daymond in the dubbed version. Ami Mizuno/Super Sailor Mercury is voiced by Hisako Kanemoto and Kate Higgins in the dubbed version.

Rei Hino/Super Sailor Mars is voiced by Rina Satō and by Cristina Vee in the dubbed version. Makoto Kino/Super Sailor Jupiter is voiced by Ami Koshimizu and by Amanda C Miller in the dubbed version.

Trailers

The movie features the Sailor Guardians going up against Dead Moon Circus as they ultimately face off against Queen Nehelenia in order to protect all that they hold dear. As per the caption shared alongside the trailer: "When a dark power enshrouds the Earth after a total solar eclipse, the scattered Sailor Guardians must reunite to bring light back into the world."
