The final presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden was moderated by Kristen Welker — NBC News White House correspondent and co-anchor of 'Weekend TODAY' — at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 8 pm to 9.30 pm CDT.

Both the moderators assigned for the first and second debates — Chris Wallace of Fox News and Steve Scully of C-SPAN — faced much scrutiny for being biased. After conducting it way better than the first debate, the moderator was showered with compliments for her unbiased and calm demeanor. She had previously co-moderated one of the debates during the Democratic primary campaign last year.

As soon as the debate ended, the Internet erupted with a string of congratulatory messages for Welker. "One thing is clear: Kristen Welker > Chris Wallace #Debates2020," one tweet read and another said, "It wasn't perfect (or easy) but Kristen Welker was a MUCH MUCH MUCH better moderator than Chris Wallace." Praising her, NBC's Kelly O'Donnell tweeted: "Total pro. She is thoughtful, tough and in charge. A master class where voters were clearly well served. Yes, that is ⁦@kwelkernbc."

In fact, the Internet couldn't stop comparing Wallace with her. Jenna Ellis wrote: "WOW. Instead of simply congratulating Kristen Welker, Chris Wallace says he’s “jealous” and “I wish I could have moderated that debate.” You had your chance, Chris, and you blew it. Own it." Reid Singer said, "Comparing Kristen Welker's work tonight with Chris Wallace's and it's hard to avoid the phrase 'backwards and in high heels'." A third posted, "I have to admit, Kristen Welker did a pretty good job tonight and easily did a much better, much fairer job than Chris Wallace could have ever thought of doing." Killy Harmner tweeted: "I'd say Kristen Welker pretty much owned Chris Wallace tonight."

So, is Wallace really jealous of Welker? Fox News anchor Wallace said, 'Well, first of all, I'm jealous," on Fox News during the network's live coverage of the event. "I would have liked to have been able to moderate that debate." Not just that, the veteran television journalist described the event as "a real exchange of views rather than hundreds of interruptions." Listen to his words here:

After hearing his words, one said, "Chris Wallace just said he is jealous he was not able to moderate the debate the way Kristen Welker did tonight. Well, Chris, unlike you, Kristin knew she wasn't there to run for President. @FoxNews," and another tweeted, "Chris Wallace is jealous of Kristen Welker? Chris, she did better because she put her bias aside... You were AFTER President Trump your whole debate..."

Jealous or not, it's clear that Welker was better than Wallace and she must get all the credit for running the show so smoothly and making it seem like it was effortless, shouldn't she?
