'Power Book II: Ghost': Does Tariq regret killing his father? Fans puzzled after his emotional eulogy at funeral

Ghost may be dead but his presence is felt on 'Power Book II: Ghost', the 'Power' spinoff. His son Tariq has killed him and it is a little difficult to ascertain what exactly he feels about it. Is it guilt? Going by his eulogy at the funeral, it seems like there might just be a tinge of guilt. However, it could also be great acting skills on his part.

Tariq went ahead and did his own thing rather than listen to the advice of others. He had been told to either talk trash about his father or praise him to the heavens. In what seems like the most emotional and heartfelt scene of the episode, Tariq gave a rather mellowed eulogy about Ghost, saying that his father had many expectations from him. Ghost was a complicated man and perhaps no one really understood him. Tariq's mother Tasha listens to this speech with tears streaming down her face. For once there is a sense of calm, unlike the normal sense of chaos as you would expect on 'Power Book II: Ghost'. We get a glimpse of his coffin, if not of his body, and the song 'I May Never Come Home' echoes in the background.

Fans don't know what to make of Tariq's behavior. "I wonder after speaking at #Ghost funeral, either Tariq really feel guilty about killing him or he just that good of an actor... #PowerGhost #PowerBook2 #GhostStarz #PowerBookII #PowerTV," one fan tweeted. Meanwhile, others said that the speech was real. "I'm glad Tariq spoke at his pops funeral that was real. #PowerGhost," another tweeted. "This funeral was emotional, Good eulogy Tariq #PowerGhost," a fan tweeted.



 



 



 

For a person who hated his father, it must have been quite something to give an emotional eulogy. "Tariq really got game just like ghost and he hated him so much! Father like son fr man!!! #PowerGhost," a fan noted. "Tariq do you regret it yet," one asked.



 



 

Does Tariq regret killing his father and letting his mother Tasha take the blame for him? Like his father, he's just as complicated, so he might. 'Power Book II: Ghost' airs on StarZ on Sundays at 8 pm.
