Things took a life of its own in 'Power Book II: Ghost' as they usually do. Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) is so smooth with his words, you really can't wrap your head around the character. After agreeing to work with Monet, he slowly begins to strengthen his control on the drug play in campus and uses all his intelligence to insulate Monet and his involvement. This is just a part of what he's really up to because on the other hand, he seems to be playing two women — Lauren and Diana.

You would think trying to get his mother out of jail and controlling a drug market as well as keeping up with his education would keep a man busy, wouldn't you? Well, think again. The best part about Tariq is that just when you think you can trust his words, he knows how to throw a curveball your way. In this episode, we watched Tariq and Brayden closely as their drug delivery on demand becomes a success.

Meanwhile, the legal tensions are running high and the lawyers would do whatever it takes to get Saxe off the Tasha (Naturi Naughton) case. For most of the episode, Davis (Clifford Method Man) struggles to prove that Saxe has political motivations in the case, and is known to do seedy things including planting bugs on minors, to listen to their conversations. Saxe isn't playing innocent, he has recruited his god-annoying teenage bratty niece this time to know how Tariq is funding his lawyers, who don't seem to be entirely bothered about that possibility at the moment.

He is partly successful, but Saxe manages to refute his allegations with the help of the ever-cheery Tate Councilman, who somehow worked as a comic relief in the episode. Davis is determined to win this case at any cost, and that includes sexing it up with Paula (Sherry Saum). All work and no sex make the lawyers dull.

Well, if that's what it takes to come up with a good defense for Tasha, then keep going? 'Power Book: Ghost' leans well into the original show as there's practically a steamy sex scene every 10 minutes. In the middle of all drug-related and legal entanglements, Jabari and Carrie decide to have heated arguments and yes, have sex in Jabari's office. Does this man not have a bedroom? This is the third time that he's managed to have a jolly time in his own office. There's nothing much to say about Carrie and Jabari because they both have so many issues in life, that they'll only resort to steamy intimacy to get through it.

Tasha has taken to working out in prison, because what else can you do?
