Pornhub launches 'Give a F**k, Get a F**k' campaign allowing 'access' to people who have voted on Election Day
If you have not voted in the 2020 election, you will not be able to 'access' Pornhub on November 3, Election Day, says the adult video streaming site - a rule laid in place as part of the company's "Give a F**k, Get a F**k" campaign, done in collaboration with creative agency Just for Fun. According to a press release mailed to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), the campaign will go live on the site on Election Day for United States users, all of whom will be greeted by an overlay page which will appear over the Pornhub website from 10 am EST to 9 pm EST reminding them to vote before entering the site that day. Mashable pointed out that the social campaign by the porn site was not full-proof as "users can just lie, but at least like every celebrity and brand out there, Pornhub is putting in some work to help democracy prevail this election."
Pornhub has also engaged a number of their adult film industry stars, including Pornhub Brand Ambassador Asa Akira, Domino Presley, Natassia Dreams, Janice Griffith, Lance Hart, Soverign Syre and Lotus Laine to share videos encouraging people to get out and vote and also teasing them that “if they don’t give a f***, they don’t get a f**k.” “Roughly 43 percent of eligible voters – equal to 100 million people - didn't vote in the 2016 U.S Presidential Election, according to turnout estimates from the U.S. Elections Project. We want to encourage people to do their civic duty this year by casting their ballot and having their voice heard,” said Pornhub VP Corey Price.
A spokesperson for Just For Fun added: "In 2016, over 100 million eligible voters had zero f**ks to give about the election. This year, to encourage everyone to get off the couch and head to the polling places, we knew we needed to hit them where it hurts - their pants."
While Pornhub has had its own share of scandals in the past, it has also made headlines this year for trying their best to do their part in educating their users about the safest practices of watching porn and having sex amid a raging global pandemic. We reported that Pornhub launched its 'Cleanest Porn Ever' campaign in a bid to promote social distancing and help users stay clean and healthy while getting down and dirty with their favorite pornstars. The move came as part of a series of actions the famous porn site has undertaken to encourage people to stay home during the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Cleanest Porn Ever campaign, which was being led by Pornhub's Model Program community, featured a full collection of uncensored instructional videos. What's more? It also has safe-for-work versions available on its YouTube channel, if you ever need to teach someone about cleanliness and hygienic sex in a non-explicit manner. The catalog includes some of the biggest pornstars from across the globe, including Leolulu, Danika Mori, Josy Black, Solazola, Gabby Ferrer, June Liu, as well as Pornhub Brand Ambassador Asa Akira.
"Even if the [virus] is now heading in an optimistic direction, we need to remain vigilant," model June Liu said about the initiative. "People must pay attention to safety and protection guidelines more than ever. Wash your hands more frequently, respect social distance and wear masks. You are not only doing this for yourself, but also for all the people you care about."
