Porn star Vienna Rose has quit the adult industry to join the US Marines after her career had left her feeling depressed and broke. She shared the news that she is retiring from adult films at the age of 20 and is hoping to join the US Marines and fulfill her dreams of serving in the military, following her brother's footsteps.

Vienna, who joined the industry when she was 18, called it the "most vile people are rewarded" and said it was not as glamorous as she had thought. She also urged 18-year-olds in the porn business to "get the f*** out now while there’s still time."

She took to Twitter to announce her departure from porn and revealed she was joining the US Marines while speaking to The Daily Beast. "I want to make a difference in this world. I’ve never given up on my dream of being in the military," she said.

"I want to be a Marine because, in my mind, it’s go hard or go home. I have respect for every branch of the military but the Marines seem like more of a challenge," she added. Currently, she will be continuing to produce adult content on OnlyFans in order to raise money to have her non-regulation neck tattoo removed before she signs up.

On Twitter, she had shared, "It is time for Vienna Rose to die. I am done with porn." Vienna also got candid on her time in the industry where she revealed she had dreamed of a glamorous life with lots of money when she initially got into porn.

While she was still a teenager, she flew to Hollywood leaving her rural hometown Oklahoma. "I’ve always been very sexual — and very curious. I was also very shy when I was young. So I was putting myself in dangerous situations to explore my sexuality, like meeting with guys off Craigslist to fulfill certain things," she shared.

"I thought I’d eventually get an STD or get killed, so figured I should explore these things in a controlled environment, and if I can make money doing it, then why not," she continued. However, she ended up staying in a tiny two-bedroom cramped up flat that housed ten aspiring adult actresses.

She ended up struggling to make her ends meet and began developing physical and mental health issues. She also shared she ended up feeling depressed and performing sex acts that she was not comfortable with.

She added how she was berated about her appearance and was told that if she "went to the gym and toned up", she would get a lot more work. "It’s almost a requirement to change yourself surgically. There’s a list of things that I want to change about myself, and I don’t think that’s healthy," Vienna shared.

She had earlier tried to leave the industry and join the marines but her neck tattoo was an issue. She shared it is a myth that there is lots of money to be made in the porn industry. "I think it’s very dangerous to put this narrative out there to women, young women especially, that sex work is this huge money-making thing," Vienna revealed.

"I feel like we feed that to women, that you’ll come in here and start making lots of money, but because porn is so over-saturated that is genuinely not the case anymore," she added.
