Police officers across the globe mourn after Krispy Kreme truck filled with doughnuts catches fire
The stereotype of the doughnut loving cop is well established in popular culture, and an incident in Kentucky highlighted how attached law enforcement personnel are to their all time go to snack.
In an incident on Monday in Lexington, Kentucky, a Krispy Kreme delivery truck brimming with their world class doughnuts caught fire, police department said.
Responding officers to the corner of Pink Pigeon Parkway and Man o' War Boulevard were heartbroken at the discovery after they found the truck was emblazoned with the famous green-and-red logo of the renowned American doughnut company and coffeehouse chain, NPR reports.
The department tweeted a statement, saying, "No words," accompanied by a crying emoticon. Devastated officers posed near the charred vehicle in photos attached to the tweet.
