IMMOKALEE, FLORIDA: A Florida sheriff's office is on the hunt for a man who they say raped a young girl and left her bleeding on a bathroom floor.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office has asked the public's help for information that would help them track down and arrest 40-year-old Roberto Lopez of Immokalee, who is wanted on charges of sexual battery of a child under the age of 12, according to the Miami Herald.

An arrest warrant filed in connection to the case stated that Lopez came to the attention of authorities after the two-year-old victim's father and his friend took her to the Community Medical Care Center in Immokalee on October 7 to treat some injuries. They told doctors that she had fallen.

However, on examination, medical professionals found an "injury located in her vaginal area" and suspected a sexual crime. They contacted the CCSO, with a detective who responded to the hospital writing in his incident report, "[The child] was upset and was continuously crying due to her injury."

The next day, a witness came forward to the police and told detectives that she woke up between 5 and 6 am on October 7 and heard crying coming from the bathroom.

She said that, when she knocked on the bathroom door, a male subject opened the door and left the residence. The witness reportedly observed that the man had blood on him and saw blood on the floor of the bathroom as well before noticing that the victim was also inside the bathroom with blood on her.

She said she had never seen the man before but managed to identify Lopez in a photo lineup. In a now-deleted Facebook post, the CCSO labeled Lopez an "animal" with Sheriff Kevin Rambosk stating that he was "pure evil" and "does not need to be on our street".

The CCSO announced that Lopez frequents the bars on Second Street and Azteca Grocery in Immokalee.

They also said Lopez goes by several aliases, including Rigoberto Lopez Velasquez; Marco Velasquez, Mario Velasquez, Marcos Vasquez Perez, Marcos Velasquez, Rigoberto Lopez, Pascual Lopez Garcia, Marcos Vasquez Perez, and Marcos Perez Vasquez.

Anyone with information on Lopez's whereabouts has been advised to contact the CCSO on 239-252-9300.
