Playboy model chokes to death while undergoing detox at home following 'several days of partying'
Law enforcement in Russia are probing the sudden death a former Playboy model who reportedly "choked and passed out after undergoing detox."
29-year-old Janna Rasskazova, who is also a highly popular DJ in Russia, collapsed and died at her Moscow residence in the presence of a friend, Daily Mail reports.
Her friend Alexander, who was with Janna at the time, said her detox specialist who was treating her at home may not have been aware she was already on a separate course of medication.
The socialite had been partying "for several days" before calling a doctor from her private clinic to her residence for treatment, local reports claim.
Alexander said the medic placed Janna, a former Playboy Playmate of the Month, on a drip before she fell asleep.
Before leaving, the doctor told him and a female friend of the model not to leave her alone.
According to a report by Moskovsky Komsomolets, Alexander noticed at one point that Janna was "breathing in a strange way" and so he woke her up.
But when she got up to go to the kitchen, the model allegedly "started choking and passed out" in front of her friends.
Alexander immediately summoned paramedics to the address, but they failed to save Janna despite their best efforts.
Local reports suggest doctors fear her condition may have been caused due to "incompatible medicine."
An investigation into the sudden death of the Russian model is currently underway.
Authorities believe Janna may have had vitamins and minerals administered directly into her bloodstream as part of intravenous vitamin therapy.
In recent years, the IV method has become highly popular among high profile celebrities as a quick ruse to beat a hangover, boost skin radiance, or to fight a minor illness.
Well-known personalities including Cindy Crawford, Geri Halliwell, Simon Cowell, Rihanna, Madonna, Chrissy Teigen, and Kim Kardashian have individually recommended and spoken highly of the hour-long medical procedure.
Janna, who originally hailed from Kyiv, had modeled for major glossy magazines including Playboy and FHM, and was also popular as a DJ in the Moscow nightclub circuit.
