The Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, who has always been a harsh critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has blasted the royal couple’s decision to relocate to Los Angeles, US, amid the coronavirus lockdown.

He took a dig at Harry and Meghan on Twitter as reports claimed that they had left their rented mansion in Vancouver Island to set up a permanent residence in Hollywood.

Morgan tweeted a link to a story by The Sun on the couple's move along with the caption: “Oh jeez…there goes the neighborhood.”  However, it seems the tweet has now been taken down now.

It is also believed that the couple moved to LA as they want to be close to "their new team of Hollywood agents and PRs".  MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) had previously reported that Meghan, has her first post-royal life job: narrating a Disney documentary about elephants.

Meanwhile, Morgan’s 7.2 million followers also joined him on the matter as one said: “I like Harry but I just don’t know why he is doing this. Such a shame. #ClapForTheNHS”. Another person tweeted: “Whose paying for all this? Hope it's not the taxpayers!”. While a third one said: “I thought they were not moving here as long as Trump is President."

Earlier, reports claimed that Harry and Meghan had left  Vancouver Island mansion to move to LA. They have been staying in a secluded compound and have not been venturing out amid the coronavirus pandemic.

They flew to America in a private jet before POTUS Donald Trump shut the US-Canada border to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. “Harry and Meghan have left Canada now for good. The borders were closing and flights were stopping. They had to get out,” a source said.

The move taken by the senior members of the British family has surprised many after Harry’s latest comments on Trump. The 35-year-old had reportedly fallen for a prank call by Russian hoaxers, Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who then shared the footage online. During that call, he severely criticized Trump and said the president ‘has blood on his hands’.

“I think the mere fact that Donald Trump is pushing the coal industry is so big, he has blood on his hands. It is because of the effect that has on the climate and the island nations far, far away, again out of sight out of mind. But we've visited those places and I'm sure you have as well. People's lives have been completely destroyed. People are dying every single month by some form of the natural disaster created from this huge change in our climate,” the younger son of Prince Charles and Diana said.

Harry thought that he was talking to Greta Thunberg and her father on the phone. During the call, he also added, “Unfortunately the world is being led by some very sick people so the people like yourselves and the younger generation are the ones that are going to make all the difference."

“The more people say no to something, the more we should knuckle down and try and make it happen because, you know, if Donald Trump can become President of the United States of America, then anything's possible, right?"

Harry and Meghan had announced in January this year that they would be stepping down as senior members of the British royal family and relocate to Canada along with their son Archie.
