Inclusivity done right: Social media is all praise for this bridal store who included a mannequin in a wheelchair in their window display
Many people took to various platforms of social media to praise a bridal store for making disabled people feel included and 'visible' after they had one of their window display mannequins pose in a wheelchair. 36-year-old Beth Wilson who is a wheelchair user herself posted a picture of the mannequin in the window in Portishead, Bristol saying that it was probably the first time that she had seen disability portrayed and displayed in the window of a store. Ever since the photo of The White Collection Bridal shop was shared, it has gone absolutely viral with many hundreds of people taking to social media to show their support.
Beth shared on Twitter, "The new wedding shop in town has a wheelchair using mannequin and it shouldn't be exciting but it's the first time I've ever seen disability portrayed in a shop window." As reported by FEMAIL, she added, "I've been using a chair for about five years now, not full time but usually when I leave the house. I think most disabled people experience inaccessibility often when they go out, I know I do, pretty much every time I go anywhere."
