Peter Tork from TV pop group The Monkees dies at the age of 77

Peter Tork, keyboardist and bass guitarist of ‘60s TV pop group 'The Monkees,' died at the age of 77 Thursday. His death was confirmed by his sister Anne Thorkelson, in The Washington Post and his death was announced by his official Facebook page, which did not clarify where or how he died. The post read "the devastating news" that was being shared "with beyond-heavy and broken hearts."
"Our friend, mentor, teacher, and amazing soul, Peter Tork, has passed from this world," the post read. A message posted on the band's official Twitter page said Tork had "passed peacefully" and invited fans to share their favorite memories by adding their comments.
