Broadway, film and television star Peter Mark Richman died on January 14, 2021, of natural causes The actor who guest-starred in more than 500 projects including hit shows like 'Jason Takes Manhattan' 'Beverly Hills 90210' and 'Three's Company' died in Woodland Hills, California. News of his demise has gripped the acting industry and fans in grief. Many took to Twitter to share their condolences and pay respects to the actor.

"'School is out, McCullough.' RIP Peter Mark Richman. Did a ton, but as a horror fan, will always most remember him from playing that jerk uncle/teacher in Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan, a movie I will defend more than most fans (my 5th fav of the series)," a fan of the actor tweeted along with screengrabs of the actor's performances in various projects. 

Writer and comedian Bill Corbett (William Daniel Corbett) also posted, "RIP Peter Mark Richman aka our favorite yellow-cardiganed superspy, the Agent From H.A.R.M."



 



 

Another user shared a personal experience from the time he met Richman. "Peter Mark Richman — a genuinely nice man. Met him close to 20 years ago at a show in North Hollywood; he had a line of '90210' & 'Friday the 13th' fans. But when he encountered a 'Three's Company' one, his face lit up and signed this for me. Godspeed... #RIP@thekidsin201," the user wrote tagging the 'Three's Company' fan account. 

Many recalled him to be a "really good guy". "Sad to hear of actor Peter Mark Richman’s passing. He always made for a good heel whether in 'Friday The 13th, Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan' or that 'Star Trek' season one finale. I heard he was a really good guy, too," one said. 



 

There are perhaps many who don't know that Richman was also a licensed pharmacist. Born in Philadelphia to a painting and paper-hanger contractor, he started off pursuing athletics. then worked as a pharmacist and got licensed in both Pennsylvania and New York before starting his acting career.

When he found his first opportunity on the New York stage as a member of the Actors Studio, he took it and since there has been no looking back — appearing in Calder Willingham's 'End as a Man' on Broadway. He then did 'A Hatful of Rain' and 'The Zoo Story'. His career spans a massive eight decades. 

Peter Mark Richman is best known for his performance of Andrew Laird, a savvy attorney for Denver-Carrington Oil and the Carrington family, on ABC's 'Dynasty' from 1981-84. He was also Reverend Snow, the father of Suzanne Somers' Chrissy Snow, on ABC's 'Three's Company' in 1978-79, another one of his beloved performances. 

He was also well known for his charitable work off-screen — being awarded the Motion Picture and Television Fund Silver Medallion for his philanthropy, along with the Sybil Brand Humanitarian Award from the Jeffrey Foundation. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, actress Helen Richman, children Howard (and his wife, Cherie), Kelly (Loren), Lucas (Debbie) — a Grammy-winning conductor — Orien (Alevé) and Roger; and grandchildren Jenny, Lily, Max, Julia, Oliver and Danica.
