'Perry Mason' Season 1 concluded on Sunday as it tied all the loose ends together in a nice pretty bow. So the question of what's next for our titular character has been one that fans have been wondering about with fervor. In light of this, here's a look at how the show makers have managed to give viewers a sneak peek at what is to come next on the Matthew Rhys starrer.

A tweet by one of the executive producers of the show, Robert Downey Jr, gave fans hope for an easter egg that can lead to the plotline of the upcoming season. He tweeted, "It’s all been leading to this! Tune in for the SEASON FINALE of @perrymasonhbo at 9pm on @hbo... stick around and LISTEN CLOSE, there’s a SPECIAL SURPRISE we’ve been saving for the end credits of episode 8 (hmmmm...)."

So what did the end credits of Episode 8 feature? A new client for Perry Mason and company. Her name is Eva Griffin and Della Street was the one who received her, and speaking of what she thinks of this new client, Della says, "She’s a woman who claims to be Mrs. Eva Griffin. She looks phony to me. I looked up all the Griffins in the city directory. There’s a lot of Griffins, but no Eva." Della's suspicions about one Eva take us back to the first-ever novel that featured Mason as the lead character and that was also about a client called Eva.

In the books, Della called her "all velvet and claws" and it turned out that Della was right. This Eva appears at Mason's doorstep asking to be saved from blackmail and be cleared of any suspicions about her husband's death, but instead, she goes about seeking help all wrong. She decides to involve Mason is her problems, possibly framing him so as to motivate him into helping himself and in extension, her as well.

How Mason solves the mysterious case of Eva's husband Mr Belter's death makes the crux of the novel. He had taken a bullet to the heart after a bath and the will is forged to benefit not Eva but Belter's nephew, Carl. There is also the case of Belter helping tabloid editor Frank Locke’s blackmail of Congressman, Harrison Burke, as well. Could this have led to his death? The book itself has many twists and is an entertaining read, but going by how HBO has treated the first season, a lot about the book's mood will see a transformation when and if it does get adapted into a show and we cannot wait to see if our guess it right!
