Finally, the perfect hack to crack an egg! (Without making a mess)
It does not matter if you are a professional chef or a home cook, you'll know by now that cracking an egg can turn into quite a mess. For amateurs, the process can be equally irritating, if they have to pick out broken shell pieces of the bowl. However, this won't be a case anymore in your lives, as we have found the perfect hack (something most cooks aren't still aware of) to crack an egg, quick easy and less messy.
First things first: How to get a clean crack?
Most people assume that cracking an egg against the side of a bowl is a good way to avoid getting any egg shells pieces, but the truth is that the method actually splinters the shell, resulting in tinier pieces gelling so well that they are often hard to spot.
The best way to crack the egg is to roll it against a flat surface (for example, countertop), and with slight pressure (read: extremely low pressure) crack it against the surface. Once you get a crack on the egg, gently pinch the crack to ensure a proper clean break before you put the egg into the bowl. Very gently pull the eggshell apart to allow the contents to drop into the bowl.
What happens if eggshells still fall into the bowl?
It is possible that you may manage to get the perfect crack but still end up dropping a piece or two of an eggshell into your bowl. There are two ways by which you can effectively remove any eggshells from your bowl. One method would be to use another piece of eggshell itself to scoop your eggshell fragment from your bowl. However, be sure to wash the eggshell before you put it into the bowl to retrieve your tiny eggshell.
Another method would be to slightly wet your finger and pick out the eggshell bit by hand itself. This method works well provided your fingertip is wet and damp. Before you execute this method, make sure that your hands are clean and washed!
